On October 4th, 2013 Center for Human Services (CHS) – Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center will host their 3rd annual block party for the entire community! Please join us for this family and youth friendly event. This “Resource Round-Up” will focus on sharing information while having a great time. There will be tours of CHS – Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center available and additional information about community services, free food, music, give-aways, face painting and more. We are expecting more than 30 resource booths this year; many more than last year. New this year: CHS-Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center will have a book give away and story time, a photo booth to capture the memory, a petting zoo, and more. Expected attendance is 400.
Lisa Destro, CHS – Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center Staff hopes that those who attend will “have a fun and educational experience. We are excited to have so many resources for the community all in one place. I know we are all looking forward to meeting many new people. We are also pleased to provide a chance for people to get to know the services available in their community better.”
In 2010, Center for Human Services opened the Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center which has allowed them to continue to provide various prevention, education, juvenile justice, counseling and family resource services for youth and families from Oakdale, Riverbank and the surrounding areas. Services have included: Youth Court, Friday Night Live, Student Assistance Program, School Readiness for pre-school age children, Parent Education, and mental health counseling.
CHS – Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center is here to assist families and equip them with skills they need to succeed. Our bi-lingual staff allows us to broaden the scope of people served and the majority of our services are offered at no cost to recipients.
