Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting with assigned tasks related to agency development and marketing including data base management and special event assistance, community fairs, social media and minor website updates. Provides direct support to staff in the Development and Communications Department.

Reports to: Development & Communications Director
Salary/ Hourly Wage: $13.37-$16.93; DOE

  1. Three-five years of office/secretarial experience.
  2. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form.
  3. Strong organizational skills.
  4. Word processing experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and donor tracking software desired.
  5. Experience in fundraising, events, marketing preferred.
  6. Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints.
  7. Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing. (if required)
  8. Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage.


  1. Support Development and Communications Department to ensure success of various fundraising campaigns (i.e. Annual Fund, Major Donor, etc…)
  2. Assist with special events and work with Development Department to produce successful events.
  3. Prepare written reports, data summaries, campaign information, event outcomes, etc.
  4. Support agency marketing and fund development staff in meeting objectives of their work plans.
  5. Assist in maintaining donor database.
  6. Provide telephone coverage and other support staff duties as assigned.
  7. Provide secretarial support to department staff.
  8. Participate in assigned committees and meetings.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

  6. Participate in assigned scheduled agency meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and other trainings as determined by the supervisor. This includes serving as an agency representative at assigned community meetings.
  7. Observance of assigned working hours and program appointments by demonstrating promptness and thorough preparation.
  8. Performance of assigned duties with a positive attitude and in the spirit of teamwork, collaboration and cooperation.
  9. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  10. Perform job duties in a safe manner to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  11. Participates in and/or supports agency fund development activities and events.
  12. Preparation of assigned reports, work records, statistical data, job performance evaluations, work plans, etc. in a timely manner.

Selection Process:

  1. Review of applications for minimum qualifications.
  2. Ranking of qualified applicants.
  3. Top 3-5 candidates scheduled for oral interview.

Medical/Fingerprinting Requirements:

This position may require a medical screening and fingerprinting.
