Program Description
Eating disorders are the leading cause of death among young women ages 15-24, and are on the rise within our male population. Early recognition is crucial to a favorable outcome in treatment. Center for Human Services offers an Eating Disorders Program that focuses on supporting individuals with an eating disorder and educating those individuals, as well as the community, about eating disorders.
Eligibility for Support Services (groups, individual counseling)

Group services are open to individuals struggling with body image issues or an eating disorder

Family and Friend Support groups are open to anyone seeking support dealing with a loved one with an Eating Disorder

Service recipients must live in Stanislaus County
Services
A weekly Disordered Eating support group for those struggling with issues related to eating and body image
Individual and family counseling services
A support and education group for friends and family
of those with eating disorders. This group offers
resources and information within your community;
helps determine ways to approach someone with
an eating disorder, etc.
Community and school presentations that cover
topics such as prevention, warning signs and
causes of an eating disorder, and the different
treatments available for eating disorders.
Resource/Referral services to registered dieticians, medical
doctors, and therapists specializing in eating
disorders
Cost
Group sessions, classroom and community presentations are offered at no fee. Please call for cost regarding individual counseling.
