Center for Human Services’ 13th Annual Candlelight Vigil

Center for Human Services’ Friday Night Live program will host a candlelight vigil for victims of influenced driving on December 6, 2007 in the 10th street place from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.  If you would like to help plan this activity please let us know.  Otherwise, we hope you will join us on this very important evening.

The Candle Light Vigil is in remembrance of those who have lost their lives due to drunk or drugged driving in Stanislaus County.  The public is invited to support families, friends, and loved ones in the community during this time.  Even one life lost due to drinking or drugged driving is too many.  Your support is critical to prevent further loss of life.

December is National Drunk and Drugged Driving prevention month.  The Friday Night Live program of Center for Human Services is committed to making our neighborhoods safe and will be working with law enforcement to remind everyone of the following:

  • Don’t risk it!  If you plan to drive, don’t drink.
  • Don’t get in a car with a driver who has been drinking.
  • Choose a sober driver.
  • Call a family member or friend for a ride.
  • Report impaired drivers to law enforcement.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. the Vigil will include, poems and songs of remembrance, lighting of candles, and a presentation of lives lost in 2007 and years past.  Candles will be provided for your convenience.  If you would like to have a loved one remembered, please contact:
