The Senior Executive team at Center for Human Services is responsible for carrying out the agency's mission, vision and values.  They provide guidance and leadership over Center for Human Services’ programs, administration, finance and resource development departments.

   
           
 

Senior Executive Team Members

Linda M. Kovacs, LMFT – Executive Director
Linda has held the position of Executive Director since 1984.  She brings strong leadership skills with a gift for creativity and innovation.  She is employed and supervised by the volunteer Board of Directors who act as the governing body of Center for Human Services.


 
Cindy Duenas, LMFT – Program Director

Cindy has been with the Center since 1997.  Cindy’s extensive background in counseling, administration, neighborhood and community work make her an asset to Center for Human Services and the programs and services we provide.  Cindy is a global thinker with expertise in strategic planning and program development. 

 

 

Kathryn M. Usiak, Director of Administration
Kathryn came to the Center in 1987.  She has over 20 years of experience in human resources, personnel policy development, business administration, supervision, safety and benefits administration.  She oversees the administrative staff and benefits administration departments and has expertise in personnel management. 

 

 

Monica Ojcius, Director of Marketing and Fund Development

Monica began her career at the Center in 1991 working in the Student Assistance Program (SAP). During her career at CHS she has held over seven different positions. As Director of Marketing and Fund Development she oversees marketing and fundraising for the agency. In addition to her position at CHS, she also serves as a Board Member for Central Valley Professional Exchange (CVPE), she is on the Board of Directors for American Fundraising Professionals (AFP), she participates in Omega Nu and is a member of the Modesto Downtown Rotary and is also on the Board for Crime Stoppers.

 

Rosemary McFadden, LMFT, Associate Director of Counseling Services

Rosemary became employed at Center for Human Services in 2000.  Rosemary began her career here as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and was promoted quickly to Program Coordinator and most recently Associate Director in May 2005.  Rosemary has over 10 years experience in top Management positions.  Rosemary is the chair of our Cultural Competency Committee.  Her deep concern for our youth and families and her ability to work with a diverse group of people makes Rosemary a wonderful asset to our organization. 

 

 

Lori Schumacher, Associate Director of Youth Services
Lori came to CHS in 1997.  Lori spent more than 10 years with the Stanislaus County Probation Department.  During her tenure she re-discovered her passion for prevention education. Lori works with our Diversion, Juvenile Justice and Friday Night Live programs.  Lori serves on the Celebration and Youth Development Committees.  She is an advocate for youth development in our community and a positive leader.

 

 

Taryn Muralt, Associate Director of Residential Services
Taryn began her career at Center for Human Services in 1999.  Taryn oversees Hutton House, our runaway and homeless teen shelter, Pathways, our residential program for aged out foster and homeless youth between the ages of 18-21 and the Student Assistance Program, which provides intervention and prevention education services on school campuses. Taryn strives for excellence and routinely exceeds expectations. She is the chair for the Training Committee at CHS and also serves on the Youth Development Committee. Taryn has strong managerial skills and is a positive role model for youth and the staff she supervises.

 

 

Joyce Ayres, Associate Director of Finance

Joyce began her career at Center for Human Services in April 2007.  Joyce has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and finance.  She is an expert in accounting software and has strong leadership qualities.

 

Achievements

The Senior Management Team, under Linda Kovacs' direction, designed the new strategic plan for the agency. 
The following "critical issues" were identified as areas to address over the next three (3) years:

  1. Program Development


  2. Agency Culture


  3. Training of Staff and Volunteers


  4. Resource Development


  5. Technology

Each area was analyzed to determine current strengths, future goals and objectives, desired outcomes and indicators of success.  More information will follow to share the status of our activities and progress towards meeting our identified goals.
