Total Rewards

Annual evaluations of pay across programs are performed and adjustments are made as necessary. We provide additional pay for employees who are biliterate and perform job duties in multiple languages.

All employees are eligible to participate. Employees are automatically enrolled at 3% on the first of the month after 60 days of employment. Employees may elect an automatic annual increase of 1% to support them in saving for retirement. Full-time employees are eligible to receive a match up to 3% after 1 year and 1,000 hours worked. The match is fully vested after 3 years.

Full-time employees are eligible for health benefits the first of the month after 60 days of employment. Please contact Human Resources for more details on coverages and costs.

Medical

Kaiser and Sutter HMO plans offered. CHS contributes towards employee coverage and offers one plan at 100% coverage.

Dental

DMO or DPO options with Delta Dental. CHS contributes toward employee coverage and offers one plan at 100% coverage.

Vision

Vision benefits are through VSP. CHS contributes towards employee coverage and offers one plan at 100% coverage.

Life

$10,000 basic life insurance provided for employees. Additional insurance plans are available for employees to select.

Employee Assistance Program

Health Advocate offers counseling, lifestyle coaching, online wellbeing program, financial & legal services, discount center, and work-life service referrals.

Vacation

After 90 days, full-time employees begin accruing vacation time and have this available to use. A 40-hour, non-exempt employee will accrue 8 hours per month or 9 days in the first year. Vacation time increases to 12 days in the 2nd and 3rd years, 15 days for years 4-6 and 19 days after 6 years of service. Employees working less than 40 hours per week earn vacation time on a prorated basis.

Holidays

CHS offers twelve (12) paid holidays for full-time employees. Employees working less than 40 hours per week are paid holiday time on a prorated basis. The holidays include New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. One annual floating holiday is available to use after 90 days.

Sick Leave

Full-time and part-time employees start accruing 1 hour per 30 hours paid from time of hire. You can start to use sick time after 90 days.

Volunteer Hours

CHS recognizes the important impact volunteering has on our community and supports employees who want to get involved. After 90 days, full-time and part-time employees are provided up to two (2) hours per month of paid time to perform approved volunteer duties.

Jury Duty

Full-time and part-time employees receive up to two (2) weeks paid jury duty replacing regular hours worked.

Wellness Initiatives

Annual Walk Fit Challenge for employees and quarterly wellness initiatives focusing on physical, mental, financial and social well-being. CHS also provides ongoing resources.

Center for Human Services is a qualified employer under the PSLF program. This federal program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Student Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments while working full time for a qualifying employer.
