There are many tools available for remote work and collaboration.  Employees are encouraged to use those endorsed by CHS.

Remote meetings and collaboration

  • Zoom provides audio and audio/video conferencing with screen-sharing and text chat features, especially for small and large groups.  Each department has one host account for scheduling meetings. Any employees may create a free personal account for joining a meeting. Email the Help Desk for assistance.
  • Slack and MS Teams (through Office 365) provide real-time chat for team collaboration with media sharing.  Email the Help Desk for assistance.  Both platforms can be used through a browser, desktop client or mobile device.

Sharing files and documents

  • Microsoft Office 365 includes OneDrive for file sharing and storage (for remote access to non-confidential and non-client data).  Access can be requested by emailing the Help Desk.
  • Email encryption to send and receive files that contain confidential and restricted information. Review the Remote Work Policy for more information.
  • Agency laptops with VPN access (for remote access to confidential and sensitive data) using a secured internet connection (speak with your supervisor).

Phone Calls and Voice Mail

You may forward your office calls to any other phone or check your voicemail remotely (instructions).

Accessing Restricted (Confidential and Sensitive) Information

Restricted information includes any client identifying information that is subject to HIPAA regulations.

  • Agency laptops with VPN access (for remote file access) using a secured internet connection (speak with your supervisor).
  • Review the HIPAA Regulations and Compliance of the Remote Work Policy.
