The mission of the Finance Department is to provide accurate and timely financial information to CHS Leadership Staff, Partners and Board of Directors.
Our vision is to be a significant support system to our program staff by providing quality services including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fiscal analysis, monthly financial review and budgeting. Staff works closely with the Board of Directors’ Finance Committee to review monthly financial statements and departmental operations.

THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF…
The Finance Department submits an annual budget for Board approval that is approximately $12 million. Once approved, we manage that budget and provide timely reporting of actual and budgeted information. We bill revenue monthly, service over 225 employees with bi-weekly payroll, process weekly disbursements for vendors and assist with regular reporting requirements for funding partners.
The Finance Department operates as a team of four, occasionally supported by a volunteer who has an interest in, or is learning to work in a field of finance. We utilize a robust accounting system, SAGE Fund Accounting, which allows us to manage our current activities and provides room for future growth of CHS.
A very important part of our activities is the year-end independent audit of CHS financial statements which includes an evaluation of internal control and compliance in accordance with government auditing standards. We are pleased to report that we have received excellent audit results, with no findings and no recommendations, for the last five years. We are proud of this accomplishment, which enables CHS to assure partners and donors that their awards, gifts and donations are safe and that we respect the confidence and responsibility with which we are entrusted.
