I have been a part of SAP for 10 years. Having been placed at Beyer High School for all 10 years has given me the opportunity to follow students all four years, and connect with siblings as they progress through school. I have many moments that I cherish, but I have been fortunate to experience students return after graduation and thank me for helping them while at Beyer. I don’t know of other jobs that could give me similar opportunities to connect and help teens navigate the stresses of everyday life.

I have been in SAP for over 23 years and have had the honor to work at an elementary school. The most fulfilling aspect is watching my students grow. What brings me joy is when I see my students turn it around. If our focus is to bring grades up from F’s to B’s, they don’t seem thrilled at first, but once they see their grades improving they become more confident and accomplished. This job has shown me how to plant the seeds in my students and be patient. I will always be grateful.

I’ve been a part of the SAP team for 12 school years and find that working in direct service with the students has been the most fulfiling. Moments of joy in my work come when the students can get in conversation with me, we focus on their strengths, we set goals and then they work on those goals with my support. It brings me joy to see them moving towards their independence and advocating for themselves. Our young people are in need of support and guidance in a non-judgmental space. Engaging in healthy and open communication encourages their academic and social success. I take that very seriously.
