Center for Human Services’ Announces Leadership Transition
Center for Human Services (CHS), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Stanislaus County for over 53 years, is set to undergo a significant and bittersweet leadership transition. After 13 years of dedicated service as Executive Director and a 26-year tenure with the agency, Cindy Duenas has announced her retirement, effective June 30, 2024.
Under Cindy’s visionary leadership, Center for Human Services has grown and evolved, making profound impacts on countless lives within the community. Cindy’s commitment to fostering positive change and addressing critical social issues has been a driving force behind the organization’s success.
In preparation for this transition, the CHS Board of Directors has identified Gina Machado as the agency’s next Executive Director. Gina brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the organization’s mission, having served in various capacities within the agency over the last 6 years. She has been involved with CHS as a volunteer since 2001. Cindy and Gina will be working closely over the next seven months to ensure a seamless leadership transition for the agency.
Cindy shared her thoughts on the transition, stating, “It has been an incredible journey and I’m so grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to serve the community through Center for Human Services. I am immensely proud of our staff and what we have accomplished together and I’m confident the agency will continue to have a positive impact under Gina’s leadership.”
The Board of Directors extends its deepest gratitude to Cindy for her dedication and contributions. They are also excited for Gina’s leadership and the fresh perspectives and energy she will bring to the organization in July of 2024.
